Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still study overseas if my English is poor?

Yes, all the schools we represent have many different levels of English, including a beginner level. On the first day of your studies the school will give you a test to evaluate what level of English you are at and place you in a class that is appropriate for your level.

What if my visa application is declined?

If you are declined for a visa the schools we represent will refund all your tuition fees paid. However you must provide the school with a letter from the respective embassy verifying your refusal.

Can I change homestays if I don't like mine?

If you are having problems with your homestay family you can advice the homestay counselor at the school you are attending. They will investigate the problem and if found to be of a serious nature they will arrange for different homestay arrangements. If the problem is not of a serious nature some schools will allow for you to change homestays with the proper notice given to the homestay family and an additional homestay placement fee.

Why are the prices at WHOSE less than other Education Agents in Taiwan? Does this mean the schools and courses you offer are not as good?

No, the schools we represent are just as good if not better than other overseas schools represented in Taiwan. In some cases they may even be the same school. Our prices are lower because we have been authorized as represntatives of these schools in Taiwan. Therefore we charge the exact same tuition and fees that the overseas school is charging.

When should I start planning my studies and making arrangements?

The sooner the better. By planning well in advance you can ensure you are accepted into the school and the course that you want. As well applying for a visa can take several months, so planning in advance ensures that you know you have an approved visa before booking a flight. Booking your flight early is also an advantage and will probably save you on your flight costs.

How old do I have to be to study overseas?

Some schools will accept students as young as 7 years old for special summer and winter study programs. However the parents of these students must give legal guardianship to a citizen of the country in which the student is visiting. Most schools who offer these programs have arrangements with the homestay family to act as the student's legal guardian. If the student is 18 years or older no legal guardianship is needed.
